Captain /Owner Richard B Hamilton

From his days as a young seaman traveling the world on an aircraft carrier with the United States Navy, Richard Hamilton has loved the sea.  Over the years he has owned a wide range of boats from a Flying Dutchman racing sailboat, to a canoe stern cold-molded sailboat he lovingly built by hand, to Diva a 43' Sparkman & Stevens yawl built in 1955.

After years of running architectural millwork and custom furniture firms Richard brought his skills and high standards in woodwork to a career in classic yacht restorations.  In June of 2002 Richard and his wife and mate Catherine took a sabbatical from their careers to pursue a life long dream.  For the next two and a half years they sailed 11,000 miles aboard their classic yacht Diva, visiting 27 countries in the Caribbean, South America and Central America.

Upon returning from their adventure Richard & Catherine planned to purchase a new house but instead fell in love with a Trumpy yacht named Private Pleasure.  They moved aboard, began an extensive restoration and renamed her Lady Catherine.

Richard is a U.S Coast Guard Licensed Captain.
